As President, Gary directs pursuit of our chapter's overall mission, directs satisfaction of operations and compliance needs, and supports initiatives to improve cybersecurity networking and education opportunities to members in Southern Arizona and beyond. Gary is a graduate of The University of Arizona with master’s degrees in Cybersecurity and Management Information Systems. He has maintained a CISSP certification since November 2014 and a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (Master) certification since January 2023. He is currently working as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor teaching Cybersecurity courses online for the IT program at Arizona State University. He previously worked over 18 years for L3 Technologies and BAE Systems as a Cybersecurity and Systems Support Manager for the U.S. Air Force COMPASS CALL program on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona.
As Secretary, David helps ensure chapter compliance with key administrative requirements from ISC2, including submission of meeting minutes and member CPEs. David is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a BA in Government, and worked in operations roles at early-stage tech startups in San Francisco before deciding to pursue his interest in cybersecurity. He has maintained a CC certification since 2023 and is actively looking for entry-level cybersecurity positions.
As the newly appointed Treasurer of the ISC2 Chapter, Cody brings a diverse background spanning healthcare, social services, and cybersecurity. Cody began his career at a pharmacy at CVS where he processed backend approvals on medical diagnoses for Medicare Part D patients. This role provided valuable experience with HIPAA policies over several years. In 2018, Cody transitioned to the public sector as a social worker for the State of Arizona. For three years, he adeptly navigated complex policies related to medical assistance, SNAP, and cash assistance approvals. This experience honed his skills in understanding and applying intricate regulations. Leveraging his expertise in policy navigation, Cody shifted focus to cybersecurity by mastering NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts. Committed to professional growth, he earned the Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification from ISC2 in 2024. As Treasurer, Cody is dedicated to supporting the ISC2 Chapter's mission and fostering a strong cybersecurity community. His unique blend of healthcare, social services, and cybersecurity experience positions him to contribute valuable insights and leadership to the chapter.
